Building A FreakOut:SNEAK PEEK! at FreakOut 40 T-Shirt and Poster!

110 Days to FreakOut! A little less if you’re an early bird!

When I started this blog, I had 31 weeks to FreakOut. I see today, is week 16, I’m half way through! The time is flying by. It won’t be long before all of you join us in the White Mountains.

Our daughter Tina kindly volunteered to create the poster and T-shirt designs. Both went to the printer last week. Check ‘em out!

With the Poster and T-shirt designs behind us, we are now busy working on the FFO Guide and that takes the whole crew and more! The Guide needs to be at the printer 6 weeks ahead of FreakOut! This is a time to confirm reservations, pricing, times, directions…

One of our biggest obstacles when confirming or looking for information, has been the winter road closures and seasonal businesses (I’m thinking they’ve all headed to the slopes). We missed riding the Cannon Aerial Tramway before it closed for the season in October. But it has reopened for the ski season and we found, they will take round trip passengers on weekends. So, Luis and I are headed North. 😊 Saturday we’re boarding the Aerial Tramway for a trip to the top. We want to see the Café on top. We can’t find any information about it and I’m thinking it may be a nice place for lunch if you’re on the Thursday, Franconia Notch Drive. We’ll see, it may be snacks only. I’ll let you know next week.

We’d love to see all of your Fiats, Lancias, Alfas… but understand some of you have no choice except to fly.

Area Airports,

Portland International Jetport, ME               69 miles, 1 hr 30 min

Manchester Regional Airport, NH             115 miles, 2 hr 14 min

Logan International Airport, MA                 156 miles, 2 hr 46 min

Burlington International Airport, VT           133 miles, 2 hr 39 min

The only car sharing website we could find with Fiats to rent was turo.com. They had a handful for 500’s available. To check for car availability on the site, enter a location and dates. To search for a specific make, select More Filters and way down the list of options you will find Vehicle Makes. I’ve never rented from them but I thought someone flying in may be interested in renting a Fiat.

Another option is to have your car shipped to FreakOut. See below for a note from Karen Gallo, she uses a website/app called UShip.

I have used the website/app called UShip successfully several times for transporting vehicles to my home. You enter the cars information as well as the pick-up and drop-off destinations, time frames you’re looking for and your preference for open versus closed car carrier. The first bids you will likely get are from the larger car carriers, similar to if you’ve called them directly. I did use a larger car carrier once for one of my trips but the others were from smaller more independent businesses or even individuals. The potential shipper may ask you additional questions and in return you can ask them questions as well. You are under no obligation when you put it out to bid to choose any of them. If you choose one of the bids, in my experiences you should have good communication on the location of your car and can contact the driver directly. Depending on your location and proximity to New Hampshire, this might be an option for you to look into. Either way we hope to see you and your car at FFO 2023!

Thank you, Karen! This was originally published in Ricambi, number 89, Spring 2022 for the Texas FreakOut.

This is a week for Sneak Peeks! Check this out. More to come.
