Building A FreakOut: Yes, you can ADD an activity to your Registration.

Did you sign up for, Club Motorsports, COG Railway, Mt. Washington Auto Road Sunset Drive? If you didn’t but would like to, contact Doug Von Koenig president@FIATclubamerica.com Club President 269-519-4916 or Lisa Colom chewychewy@comcast.net .

We’ve been talking with Pat from Club Motorsports. The snow is off the track and the crew is ready to go!

If you didn’t select Hot Laps during registration, No Worries! You still have time, invitations to sign up through Club Motorsports will be sent after registration closes.

You can email me at chewychewy@comcast.net and I’ll add you to the list of members receiving an invitation or check back here at fiatclubnne.com. I will post the information when it becomes available.

Your invitation will include a direct link for Club Motorsports with pricing and the actual track event details, payments will be made to Club Motorsports directly.

Don’t wait when you receive your invitation, the number of participants will control the logistics of staff and safety equipment required for the day.

“Hot Laps” will consist of 20–30-minute sessions on track with an instructor or until a Club Motorsports instructor feels the driver is competent to safety navigate the track and traffic. Most tracks would call it “open track”. It’s an opportunity for the driver to drive the car near the limits of his/her and the cars abilities in a controlled environment.

Remember, if you pass the broomstick test in your 2017-2020 124 Spider, you qualify for Hot Laps.

Broomstick test: If you have a soft top and do not have a roll cage, you need to pass the broomstick test. Sitting in your car with your helmet on you need to have one inch of free space below the broomstick. The broomstick should be resting on the windshield and the support behind your seat.

Imagine, Judy is wearing her Helmet. She easily passes the broomstick test.

See the November 18th blog post for additional information on Club Motorsports. You can also email Pat Curran from Club Motorsports at patc@clubmotorsports.com directly for information and registration.

Opening in 1869 the Cog was the first cog railway in the world. See the December 16th blog post for additional information on the Cog Railway. If you’d like to see what’s happening right now at the Cog, check out their Webcam at thecog.com/cogcam.

I clipped this shot earlier in the week from the Webcam at Marshfield Station.

There’s still some snow on the mountain. Which reminds me, the Average temperature at the summit of Mt. Washington in June is 46 degrees Fahrenheit. Mountain and valley temperatures vary from each other by 12 to 20 degrees each day. You may want to consider pants and a jacket for the Cog Railway and the sunset drive up the Mt. Washington Auto Road. If you forget your warm clothing, Marshfield Station houses a gift shop, along with the reservation and ticketing desk, a food court, free museum and restrooms.

If you’re looking for FIAT related items stop at the Club store before you head out. I hear Candy has some warm items for sale.

Very few of you have not signed up for the sunset drive to the summit. We are thrilled with the response. It promises to be a fun event. I personally can’t wait to see all the Fiats driving to the summit and then taking some fantastic group photos. Please note if you are flying in and renting a vehicle for FreakOut, you and your rented vehicle are welcome to join us on our drive to the summit or any other FreakOut drive. See above to update your registration.

See the December 2nd blog post for additional information on the Mount Washington Auto Road Sunset Drive.

For the Conway Scenic Railroad trip on Tuesday, there’s no need to change your FreakOut registration. All you need to do is call the Conway Scenic Railroad and let them know you are part of the Fiat FreakOut party. There is an option for a box lunch, see the March 3rd blog post for details. We advertised this “Tuesday” event for early birds and have been happily surprised at how popular it has become. This will be an excellent kickoff event for FreakOut with so many members attending.

This weekend, we are in Bartlett at the Grand Summit. We’re going through the day-to-day FreakOut activities, testing some drives and establishing what we have left to do. I’ll let you know how it goes next week. It won’t be long now. I suppose we should be stressed having invited so many for a visit but no, we’re still excited and can’t wait to see you. 39 days until FreakOut!

Another Note for Registration:

If you need to swap out the car, you entered on your FreakOut registration form for a different car, please contact Tim Beeble, tbeeble@gmail.com. He will need, year, make and model of the new car.

If you want to add an additional car, to your FreakOut registration form, contact Doug Von Koenig president@FIATclubamerica.com Club President 269-519-4916. Doug will also need, year, make and model of the additional car.

Did I mention, registration closes, Sunday May 7th at 11:59 PM. Don’t miss it, 40 years of FreakOuts and it’s the first time it’s come to New Hampshire! Who’s next?
