Through the Merrimack Valley, Monadnock and Dartmouth Regions of NH
This drive is all about traveling the back roads of the Merrimack Valley, Monadnock and Dartmouth Regions of New Hampshire. We’ve added, comfort stops, lunch at the historic Sumner House restaurant and a stop at Fort at No. 4.
Start: Irving gas station off Exit 10 on 93 (86 West River Rd. Hooksett, NH 03106)
Time: Departing Irving at, 9:15 AM
We’ll travel to Harrisville, making a stop at the Harrisville General Store. From Harrisville we’ll continue to Charlestown, NH, home to The Fort at No. 4 (267 Springfield Rd.) and the Sumner House restaurant where we’ll have lunch. Following Lunch and Fort at No. 4 we’ll head East having one comfort stop, eventually ending, mid. afternoon at Beech Hill Farm, Ice Cream in Hopkinton, NH.
The Fort at No. 4 (267 Springfield Rd., Charlestown, fortat4.org) is an 18th-century fort, now serving as an open-air living history museum with exhibits.
